Dropped $1200 on a marketing agency for my tree service and got nothing but crickets
I hired a local agency in Edmonton to handle my Google Ads and website for 3 months back in June. They took the money but barely updated anything and my phone basically stopped ringing. Has anyone else gotten burned by a smaller agency that talks big but delivers nothing?

Did they even show you the search terms their ads were running on? I had a landscaper friend who paid for clicks from people searching "how to remove a tree stump yourself" and wondered why nobody called.

Yo @jade226 nailed it with that search terms thing. I got burned the same way with a Google Ads guy who was bidding on "tree removal cost" and "DIY tree removal" instead of "emergency tree service Edmonton" or whatever your actual location is. Check your Google Ads account if you can get into it, look at the actual search queries people used to see your ads. If you don't have access to that account, that's a huge red flag right there. Make them hand over the login or just take the L and start fresh with someone who actually shows you what they're doing.
