Had a debate about whether agency reviews really matter for choosing a contractor
I read a post last week from a guy who said he booked an agency with 4.8 stars and got ghosted after the deposit. Another commenter argued the 3-star shop actually did better work since they had more honest feedback. Made me wonder if review scores are just popularity contests or if they actually tell you something useful. Has anyone here had a bad experience with a highly rated agency vs a good one with lower ratings?

My buddy hired a 4.9-star agency for his kitchen remodel and they left him with crooked cabinets and took six extra weeks, while a friend's 3.6-star place finished early with solid work and clear communication.

Man that's the wildest thing I've ever heard about reviews lol. My own kitchen cabinets are crooked enough to make a carpenter cry and I paid top dollar for them too. Reviews are basically just a popularity contest these days if you ask me. I swear the 3.6 star places are usually the ones who actually have time to talk to you instead of just taking your money. The 4.9 star shops are too busy posting fake testimonials to fix your crooked drawers. Guess I'll stick with the middle of the road guys from now on.
