I went with the cheaper local SEO agency and it actually worked out better
Everyone on here says you have to pay top dollar for results, so I was nervous choosing a $500/month local shop over a big name firm charging $1500. They focused on simple Google Business Profile fixes and getting citations on local directories. After four months, my client's calls from search went up by 30%. Has anyone else had a good run with a smaller, less flashy agency?

Wasn't the real win finding an agency that actually listened to your needs?

Is it bad that my cheap local guy just barely did anything and it still worked out better than my last agency? I mean, @norag38 probably feels the same way - sometimes the guy who just fixes the basics actually knows what he's doing. I literally had one agency try to sell me on a "brand narrative" when all I wanted was my address and hours sorted out.

Right? @brookefox nailed it, my cheap local guy just fixed my basic listings and it worked way better than the fancy pitch I got.
