My buddy in Denver swore by a $200/month SEO agency for local bars...

I ran their 'guaranteed' Google Business Profile tactics for 6 months and my phone rang less. Anyone else get burned by a 'local specialist' that just uses generic templates?

Half the clicks were from other countries? That's just wild.

My cousin in Austin paid a guy $150 a month to run Facebook ads for his food truck. The guy just used the same stock photos of a burger for every single post. We looked at the ad reports and over half the clicks were from other countries. He got more real customers from putting a sign on his truck window than from that whole year of ads.

I mean, I get why he's frustrated, but $150 a month for Facebook ads is basically pocket change for that kind of thing. You get what you pay for, and a cheap guy using stock photos and not targeting properly is gonna give you cheap results. The real problem sounds like the guy he hired was just phoning it in, not that Facebook ads themselves are a scam. A solid ad with good photos of his actual food and a local audience set up could've brought in way more business than that window sign ever did, right?
