PSA: That glowing 5-star review my agency got last Tuesday was entirely because I fixed a backed-up toilet for free

Client's office flooded at 7 AM, I showed up in my truck, snaked the main line myself, and didn't charge them a dime, and now they're raving online like I redesigned their whole website or something.

Man, that's the oldest trick in the book. You fix one gross mess and suddenly you're a miracle worker who can do no wrong. Bet they'd give you a different review if you showed up and their toilet was just clogged with a regular turd instead of an office-wide disaster. Next time bring a plunger and really sell the theatrics - make them think you wrestled a sewer gator or something.

Right, and the funny part is you could totally lean into that. Walk in all serious, give the plunger a little salute before you start, and if it's a quick fix, just say something like "all in a day's work, ma'am, this one was a lightweight compared to the 'Hoboken Horror' last week"... they'll eat that up every time. A little story and a good attitude and they'll think you're the best plumber in three counties, even if you just unclogged a single sink.
