Serious question, do agency review sites actually read the reviews they publish?

I was looking at a local agency in Austin last night and found 5 reviews that were clearly copy-pasted with just the name swapped out. I actually checked the timestamps and they were all posted within 6 hours of each other. How do these sites not have a filter for duplicate text? Has anyone else reported fake reviews and actually gotten them taken down?

That whole thing makes me wonder if these sites even have real employees checking reviews. My cousin runs a small bakery in Dallas and she found three fake one-star reviews all saying her cake was dry. Problem was the timestamps were like 2 AM on a Tuesday and the accounts had no profile pictures. She reported them to Yelp and it took almost two months to get a response. By then the damage was already done because people saw the low rating first. The sites probably just run an automated system to catch obvious spam but miss the stuff thats slightly more clever. At the end of the day those platforms make money off listings so they got no real push to clean house.

Ha @davis.mia, guess my fake positive reviews are paying for my coffee habit!
