That 5 star agency I hired left me with a mess after 3 months

So I went with this agency that had nothing but glowing reviews on here, like 4.9 stars across 80 reviews. Turns out 60 of those reviews were from the same 3 people using fake accounts I found through a reverse image search on their profile pics. Their actual work? They missed every single deadline and used stock photos in our ad campaign. Anyone else run into this fake review problem and how do you spot it now?

Man, that sucks. I gotta laugh at myself here because I almost fell for the exact same thing last year with a "premium" agency that had like 90 reviews all posted within two weeks. Made me feel like a total idiot when I realized. The big red flag for me now is if every single review is overly detailed and positive with zero criticism, like nobody's that perfect. Also, check the dates if you can - if they're all clustered together in a short time period, that's super sketchy. And honestly, if they promise the world upfront with crazy low prices, run the other way. Hope you can get your campaign sorted without too much more headache.

Yeah, "overly detailed and positive with zero criticism" - that is SUCH a good point. I used to think a review was a review, you know? Like more is better. But you made me realize I was being naive. @murray.cole I totally get that feeling of feeling like an idiot after. I remember reading these glowing 5-star reviews that were basically short novels and thinking "wow they really put in the work" but now I see it's just copy-paste garbage. The date clustering thing is KEY - I never even thought to check that before, but now I'm gonna be all over it.
