Vent: That 6 month SEO contract I signed in Austin was a trap
Back in February I signed a 6 month contract with a digital agency in Austin for SEO work. They promised monthly reports and keyword growth but by month 3 I was getting form emails and zero actual changes to my site. I called them out and they blamed Google updates and algorithm shifts. Has anyone else gotten stuck in these long term contracts with no real results?

That six month contract thing is rough but honestly the blame game on Google updates is a huge red flag. Google changes stuff all the time but real SEO people adjust their work around it, not use it as an excuse to stop trying. Sounds like they just cashed the checks and did nothing after month two. Next time try a month to month deal so you can bail if the results don't show up.

You ever notice how those six month contracts always seem to end up with the SEO team doing nothing after month two? It's like they know you're locked in so they just coast. Google rolls out updates every few months, that's just how it works. Real SEO people stay on top of it and adjust their strategy, not throw up their hands and blame the algorithm. Month to month is the way to go, keeps them honest and you can walk if the numbers aren't moving.
