Air fryer wings came out rubbery until I stopped flipping them halfway

Tried the usual flip at 8 minutes for weeks until I let them sit untouched the whole 20 minutes at 380 and they came out crispy instead of chewy, what's your go to wing time and temp?

Swear I had the exact same problem for months... felt like such a dummy when I realized I was overworking them. I do 390 for 22 minutes now, no flipping at all, just shake the basket once at the 15 minute mark if I remember. My wife calls it my "lazy wing method" but hey it works better than when I was micromanaging them. I learned the hard way that opening the drawer to flip just lets all the steam out and messes up the crisp. Now I just toss them in a bowl with sauce after they're done so they don't get soggy in the basket.

Respectfully, I'm on team flip. 390 for 12 minutes, flip, then another 8-10 depending on size has never done me wrong. You think letting them sit the whole time works better?
