My buddy Mark got an air fryer last Christmas. He was all about the frozen stuff at first, chicken nuggets and curly fries. Then he tried making crispy chickpeas. Spiced them with paprika and garlic powder. Totally changed his life, he said he eats them like popcorn now and his kids actually ask for them. Wild what that little oven can do.

Oh man, the part about "eats them like popcorn now" really got me. That's exactly what happened in my house too. I started with frozen fries and all that, but once I tried making my own crunchy snacks, there was no going back. The air fryer just does something magical to chickpeas, they get this perfect crunch without being burnt. I love tossing them in some chili powder and lime juice, makes a great movie snack. It's honestly wild how a countertop oven can replace half my kitchen gadgets.
