My air fryer changed after I visited my sister's place last Saturday
I was at my sister's house in Phoenix and she made chicken wings in her air fryer that were way crispier than mine. She told me she preheats for 5 minutes at 400 degrees before adding any food. I never preheated mine before that. Now I do it every time and the texture is totally different. Has anyone else noticed a big difference from preheating?

Noticed the same thing with my toaster oven too. Turns out half the stuff we cook just works better if you give it a minute to get hot first. Makes you wonder how many little habits we just never question until someone shows us a better way.

Oh come on Lucas, is it really that big of a deal? People have been cooking without preheating for years and we're all still here. I get that it might make a difference with some things like pastries or whatever, but most of us are just throwing frozen pizza or leftover soup in there. Not exactly fine dining. Besides, how many people actually read the manual for their toaster oven anyway? I bet most folks just figure it out as they go and it works fine. Seems like one of those things that sounds smart to say but doesn't actually change your day to day life that much.
