Pro tip: Skip the preheat on frozen chicken wings

I was at my buddy's place last Saturday and he just threw frozen wings straight in the air fryer at 400 for 25 minutes, no preheat, and they came out way crispier than my usual 20 minute preheat method, anyone else skip the preheat step?

My neighbor tried this last week and swore his wings came out crunchier than ever before.

Preheat is a waste of time with frozen wings... the moisture coming off them as they thaw in the fryer actually helps render the fat better. 400 for 25 minutes is about right, but I'd flip em halfway through to get that even crunch. Your buddy's method sounds solid, the only thing I'd tweak is giving them a little shake every 8 minutes or so to keep the skin from trapping steam.
