Rant: My air fryer basket was lying to me about 'crispy'

I kept doing 380 for 12 minutes on frozen fries and getting floppy sad sticks, then one random Tuesday I bumped it to 400 for 15 and everything changed in one go. The difference was the rack position, not the time, I had it too low the whole six months. Anyone else find their manual's temp guide is just wrong for their specific model?
