Tried parchment paper liners in my air fryer and now I get why people swear by them

Honestly, I used to just spray the basket with oil and hope for the best. But last week I picked up a pack of those pre-cut parchment liners for $5 at the grocery store near my place in Austin. First batch of chicken wings came out way crispier and the basket cleanup took like 30 seconds instead of scrubbing for 5 minutes. Has anyone else noticed a big difference with liners or is it just me?

Actually saw a test online where someone cooked fries side by side and the liner batch came out way more even. It makes sense though, less oil pooling means more crispiness.

Did that test control for things like fry thickness and oil temperature though? I've done a lot of home frying and the biggest factor is always making sure your oil is hot enough. Those silicone liners can actually trap steam underneath if you aren't careful, which makes your fries soggy instead of crispy. Plus they're a pain to clean and most people don't replace them often enough, so they get greasy and start smelling funky. I'd rather just use parchment paper or go without and drain on paper towels after.
