A gray-haired inspector at the Tulsa hangar made me redo a fuel line just to watch me flare it by feel
He said if my fingers can't read the tube, my eyes never will, so now I practice 10 flares a week on scrap 3/8 tubing before I touch a real job, and I'm wondering if anyone else was taught the feel-first way instead of gauging every cut.
