Finally got that flap rigging right on a 737 after 3 tries
Kept getting the gap out of spec by 2mm and couldn't figure why. Turned out I was tightening the forward bolts before the aft ones, which was pulling everything crooked. Anyone else run into simple stuff like this that makes you feel dumb after?

Oh man, the star pattern thing got me too on a Diamond DA40 - torqued the mains in a circle and spent the next day chasing a vibration that was totally my own fault. It's wild how the brain just goes on autopilot with the simple stuff.

Honestly man, that's the kind of thing that'll drive you nuts. I was doing a wheel change on a Cessna 172 one time and kept getting a weird shimmy after torquing the lug nuts. Spent like 45 minutes checking everything over and over before I realized I was tightening them in a circle instead of a star pattern. Felt like a total idiot when I finally figured it out. It's always the simple stuff that gets you because you're so focused on the hard part you forget the basics. Ngl, it's nice to know I'm not the only one who does stuff like that.
