My old lead in Tulsa said my torque wrench habits were lazy, and 9 years later I still hear his voice
Back when I was green on King Airs, I used to click and release my torque wrench and just toss it in the box without backing it off. My lead pulled me aside and said 'you're gonna cost somebody a wing, zero it out every time.' I rolled my eyes for about a week but he made me show him the setting at the end of every shift, so it stuck. Now I've got a 30 year old Snap-On that still passes cal every year and I think about him every single time I dial it back down. Any of you old timers still backing off your wrenches, or did you stop worrying about it?
