Pro tip: check the torque seal on those flap actuator bolts
I've seen three planes in the last year where the seal was broken but the bolt was still tight, and people just re-sealed it without checking. That's a fast way to miss a real problem. How do you guys handle torque seal inspections on your pre-flights?

Wait, isn't that a check for tampering, not tightness?

Look at it this way, a loose cap is basically tampering waiting to happen. If the seal isn't tight, someone could mess with it without leaving a clear sign. So checking that it's on properly covers both ideas at once. It's the first line of defense. Why would you only check after you suspect something's wrong?

Nah I used to think the same thing but sarah_hart makes a solid point. A tight seal is basically tamper proof by default so checking for one covers the other.
