Swapped a 5-year-old torque wrench for a new CDI one and my fastener torque readings went from 5% error to less than 1%

Had a gear puller job on an old Cessna landing gear last week where the old wrench clicked way before the bolt actually snuggled up - has anyone else noticed their older wrenches drifting after a certain number of cycles?

Totally agree, old wrenches definitely drift. My Snap-on from 2012 started clicking early on certain bolts last year, especially after I dropped it on concrete once. Had a guy recalibrate it and now it's okay but not as consistent as a newer one.

My torque wrench graduated from "precision tool" to "guess-o-meter" about six drops ago, pretty sure it's just making sounds for fun now.
