Man that's the worst. Four hours for a single ground wire is basically a rite of passage for anyone working on these old birds though. I've been there on a 172 out in the middle of nowhere, chasing a ghost in the electrical system that turned out to be a corroded ring terminal hiding behind the panel. The real kicker is when you finally find it and it's just sitting there loose, mocking you for the last four hours. Bet you triple checked everything else before that lucky moment.

Haven't noticed that the universe has a sick sense of humor when it comes to fixing stuff? It's always the last place you look, and it's always something stupid simple like a loose screw or a dirty connection. Makes you wonder if life is just one big scavenger hunt designed to test your patience.
