Am I the only one who began checking door contacts before mounting?
I stopped just trusting they worked out of the box and now test each one with a meter first. This caught two faulty units in my last job alone, saving a trip back. It adds a minute per door but prevents headaches later. How do you handle pre-install checks?

I've started testing every contact too after getting a few duds. Just a quick continuity check with the meter before I mount anything. Saves so much time later.

Seems like overkill if most parts work fine anyway.

It's really not overkill though. A quick test now beats a full rework later. Just makes sense.
