Finally nailed a panel placement that the home owner actually liked
I noticed a lot of guys just slam the panel in the basement mechanical room without thinking about where the cell signal is best. Last week I walked around a 3,000 sq ft house with my meter before mounting and found the cell booster got 4 bars near the laundry room instead. Has anyone else started scouting signal before drilling?

Not really necessary in my experience. Cell signal is usually fine as long as you're not in a basement or metal closet - I've mounted panels in some weird spots (behind furniture, in garages) and the clients never complained once. Folks are way too worried about signal when most modern systems just work if you do a clean install. Plus the time you spend walking around scouting could be used to get to the next job.
