Fixed a panic loop short in a crawl space at 2am yesterday

Honestly, I was out on a service call in this old house near Greenville, the place had a DSC system from like 2015. The customer kept getting false police dispatches every time the AC kicked on. I spent the first hour checking the panel, swapping batteries, thinking it was a power issue. Then I got into the crawl space and found where a previous installer had run the panic loop wire right next to a duct. The insulation had worn through and it was shorting out on the metal each time the HVAC vibrated. I wrapped it with some heat shrink and moved the wire about a foot away, and the false alarms stopped completely. Customer bought me a coffee and said I saved their monitoring fees. Has anyone else run into weird AC interference causing trouble with hardwired zones?

Found a similar short from a wire pinched near an AC transformer once.

Yeah, you ever find one of those and have to trace the whole thing back?
