Got into it with an electrician last week over wireless vs hardwired sensors

He kept saying wireless is just as reliable now, but I’ve seen too many false alarms from dead batteries. What’s your take, are we giving up too much with hardwired stuff?

My uncle's house had a wireless sensor die mid-storm and the alarm never went off when that branch crashed through his garage.
