Had a client in Tampa last week who insisted on running all his own low-voltage wire

He botched the runs so bad we had to re-pull everything, costing him an extra $800. Anyone else run into homeowners who think YouTube makes them pros?

Oh man, that's the worst. Honestly, it's like they watch one video and think they know the whole trade. Tbh, that extra cost is just the price of their ego. I've seen guys run wire next to power lines and then wonder why their signal is all junk. Some people just won't listen until they have to pay for the fix.

My buddy had a client like that, @the_gray. Dude argued about conduit for a week, then paid triple to have it all ripped out and done right.

Some people just won't listen until they have to pay for the fix" - yeah, except sometimes they still don't listen even after paying for it. That $800 lesson usually just makes them mad at you instead of themselves.
