Had a motion sensor decide to party at 3 AM in a quiet suburb

Got a call from a customer in Maplewood last Thursday because their system kept going off. The living room sensor was triggering every hour like clockwork. I went over, checked the wiring and the zone, everything looked fine. Then I noticed their new cat tree was right in the line of sight, and their very fat cat was doing midnight climbs. Had to move the sensor up a foot and adjust the angle. Anyone else had a pet cause a false alarm loop you had to hunt down?

My own cat once set off the alarm by trying to burgle the treat jar.

Did the cat at least get the treats before the cops showed up?

Wendy_garcia16 might have a little feline mastermind on her hands. Had a friend whose cat figured out the alarm panel had a two-minute delay before the siren hit. That cat would paw the treat jar, wait for the beeping countdown to start, then bolt to a hiding spot. The owner thought the system was faulty for weeks.
