Hot take: I'm seeing way more smart home calls than basic alarm installs these days
Last week in Austin, three out of five calls were just to add door sensors to an existing smart home setup. Has anyone else had their job shift from just security to more of a tech support role?

Honestly that's been my exact experience for the last year. Tbh, do you find customers are more or less patient when it's a smart home issue compared to a basic alarm fault? Ngl, half my day is now explaining phone apps to people who just wanted a beep on their door. Feels like the whole job description changed overnight.

Waste half my day on app support calls too. People get way more annoyed with smart home stuff because they think it should just work. Honestly makes me miss fixing simple wiring problems.
