Nostalgic for the days of hardwired panels and no cloud BS

I was swapping out an old DSC panel at a house in Arlington last Tuesday. The thing had been running since 2006 with zero issues. Reminded me of when I started in this trade back in 2011, everything was hardwired and you could troubleshoot a zone fault with a multimeter in 5 minutes. These new all-in-one wireless systems with app updates and cloud dependencies drive me nuts. Anyone else miss the simplicity of the old stuff, or am I just getting old?

Used to think it was all hype but then I actually tried it myself and it completely changed my mind. Saw results in like a week that surprised me so much I had to admit I was wrong. Sometimes you just gotta give something a real shot instead of just assuming it's all talk.
