Rant: A fault in a zone that took 6 hours to trace
Last Tuesday I had a commercial job in Tulsa where a zone kept showing trouble only when the HVAC kicked on. Turned out the NIC wasn't grounded and the thermostat wire was running parallel to a 240v line for 40 feet. Took me 6 hours and a borrowed megohmmeter to figure out what should've been a 20 minute fix. Has anyone else dealt with phantom faults that only show under load?
