Back when I started contracting in Edmonton 20 years ago I used a spirit level for every single tile job

Now I just run a laser line and a 6 foot level across the floor and it cuts my layout time in half, has anyone else switched over to lasers for setting tile or am I just getting lazy?

Oh man, ain't that the truth. It's like how I remember my grandpa using a paper map for every road trip and now I just punch it into my GPS and go. You're not getting lazy, you're just using today's tools to work smarter, that's progress. Lasers are way more accurate for layout anyway, once you learn the quirks of the beam you can bang out a floor way faster without second guessing yourself.
