Guy on my crew says training new hires is a waste of money, I think he's dead wrong
I was grabbing coffee at the Tim Hortons on 118 Ave in Edmonton and overheard two guys arguing about whether it's worth training first year apprentices when they might leave in a year. One guy said he's burned through 4 guys in 2 years and won't spend a dime on them anymore, the other said his best lead hand came from a guy he trained from scratch. I get both sides, but where do you all land on this?
