Just realized my crew hit 40 straight days without a call back
I was cleaning out my truck this morning and did the math on my job log. 40 days since a single customer called us back to fix something, which never happened in my 12 years running crews around Red Deer. Last year the best stretch was maybe 9 days, usually it's a punch list issue like a door that sticks or a trim gap I swore looked fine. This is a small crew, just me and two guys, so it's not like we got faster, we just started walking the site like a buyer before we hand over the keys. Has anyone else hit a milestone like this and then watched it all fall apart the next week?

Man, 40 days with no call backs is wild, I can't even imagine. My buddy runs a painting crew in Edmonton and he had a stretch like that once, we all thought he was gonna get cursed for bragging about it or something. The very next week he got a call about a ceiling that looked like it was sagging, turns out the homeowner's kid had thrown a toy through the drywall and patched it with tape, not even his fault but he still had to go fix it. It's funny how the universe works, like the second you feel good about the quality of your work, something dumb comes along to humble you. But honestly, that 40 day mark means you're doing something right, even if the next job throws you a curveball. Just enjoy the win while it lasts, those are the stories you tell at the shop years later.
