Pro tip: I was wrong about using a standard skid steer for demo on a Calgary tear-down
I always used a regular skid steer with a bucket for small demo jobs, thinking a mini excavator was overkill. Last month, we had a full house tear-down in Bridgeland and I rented a 3-ton Kubota mini ex for a week as a test. The difference was huge. We cleared the foundation in two days instead of four, and the precision for pulling specific walls saved us a ton of cleanup time. The rental cost was about $400 more, but the labor savings were double that. Has anyone else made a switch like this on a demo project and seen similar results?

That Kubota rental cost sounds low for Calgary, was that just for the machine itself?

Saw a post on a local group saying rental prices dropped a bit this month. Might be why it seemed low.
