Spent 3 days hunting a leak in an Edmonton basement only to find it was the humidifier hose
Did a basement reno in Edmonton last fall and the homeowner kept saying the carpet felt damp near the furnace room. I checked the weeping tile, the floor drain, even cut open drywall looking for a cracked pipe. Turned out the saddle valve on the humidifier was dripping 1 drop every 5 seconds and it ran under the baseboard for who knows how long. Total fix was a $12 compression fitting and 10 minutes of work after 3 days of tearing my hair out. Anyone else got a go-to checklist for tracking down slow leaks before you start cutting drywall?
