Spent $800 on a cheap foundation repair quote last spring and now my basement cracks are back
I went with the lowest bidder for some foundation crack injections in my Edmonton duplex. Guy said it would last 10 years. 8 months later the same cracks are weeping water. Now I get to pay a real company double to fix it right. Anyone else get burned by going cheap on structural work?

My buddy Dave did the exact same thing with his house in Calgary. Paid some guy $600 to inject epoxy into his basement cracks and he guaranteed it for life. Eight months later during a big rainstorm, water was pouring through the same cracks like nothing was ever done. The new contractor told him the cheap stuff basically just sat on top of the crack and never actually bonded with the concrete. He ended up spending over $2000 to have them properly cut out and sealed with hydraulic cement. That lesson cost him a new set of basement carpets too.

That $2000 fix is rough but at least he got it done right the second time. Nothing worse than paying twice for the same problem.
