TIL from a electrician at the Nisku coffee shop that most tractor trailers have fake log book entries

I was grabbing a coffee near Leduc last week and overheard two electricians talking about a job at a warehouse. One said he saw log books with entries written 3 weeks in advance sitting on a dash. Made me wonder how many contractors are fudging hours on site reports too. Anyone else ever notice stuff like that at their own job sites?

...and that's exactly the kind of stuff that makes you wonder what else people are faking just to get through the day. I see it with home renovation contractors all the time, they promise a two week job and show up for a few hours every other day while logging full days on the invoice. It's like once someone figures out they can cut corners on one thing without getting caught, it spreads to everything else. The whole system is built on trust and paperwork that nobody actually verifies properly.

Come on, you're being too hard on them. Most contractors are just running a few jobs at once to keep everyone happy, and the paperwork is more about covering their own backs than ripping people off. If you watch them every second, they'll just charge you more for the stress.
