Caught the wrong wall before paint and saved $220

I was about to knock out a non-load-bearing wall in my 1973 house off Central Ave, but something felt off so I checked the attic first. Turns out it was holding up part of the roof truss, and the extra beam I'd need to fix it would've cost more than the whole project. Has anyone else found surprises up there that changed their whole plan?

Hold up, I gotta disagree a little. Checking the attic is smart, but calling that a "wrong wall" might be too easy on yourself. A 1973 house with trusses, you should've checked the attic before you even picked up a sledgehammer, not after "something felt off." That $220 you saved is basically luck, not skill. And honestly, half the fun of demo is finding out the hard way, so I'd say you missed out on the classic "well, crap" moment that makes this hobby what it is. Glad it worked out, but that's a beginner move that happened to pay off.
