I finally hit 1,000 square feet of tile in my own house and it broke me
Three years of weekend reno on this 1950s Albuquerque bungalow. I did the kitchen, both baths, and the entryway myself. When I added up the tile footage it came to 1,050 square feet. That number hit different because it's basically the whole footprint of the house. Every ache in my knees and back suddenly made sense. But the real surprise was the waste pile. I hauled 17 full trash bags of broken tile and cut-offs to the dump last Saturday. I thought I was being careful with measurements too. Has anyone else counted their total footage after a big project and felt weirdly proud and stupid at the same time?
