Rant: My adobe wall patch failed twice before I got it right
I was fixing a crack in my living room wall off Central Ave last month. Mixed the mud too wet the first time, it sagged and peeled overnight. Second try, I skimped on the fiber tape and it cracked right down the middle after 3 days. Finally I used a damp sponge to wet the old adobe before applying and let each coat dry a full night. Has anyone else dealt with patching old adobe where the new stuff just won't stick? What's your trick for blending the texture?
