Unpopular opinion: that $18 laser level from Harbor Freight was actually fine for my tile job
I needed to level a backsplash in my kitchen near Eubank and my dad kept telling me to rent a real rotary laser for $60 a day. I grabbed the cheap one on a Saturday, snapped it on the tripod, and got a line across 12 feet with maybe a 1/16 inch drift. For a backsplash that gets covered by cabinets and caulk, that was plenty. Now I'm wondering if I got lucky with this unit or if the pricey ones are mostly hype. Anyone here run a cheap laser on a bigger floor job and regret it?
