Warning: I counted 23 outlets in one Albuquerque kitchen reno and found cloth wiring in all of them
I was doing a simple cabinet swap on a place near Nob Hill when I pulled the first outlet cover off and saw cloth wrapped wiring staring back at me. I checked every single one and counted 23 outlets and switches total, and not a single one had a ground wire. My voltage tester showed 118 volts but when I put a load on it the lights in the next room flickered like crazy. I stopped the whole job right there and told the homeowner we need an electrician before anyone touches another screw. If you are pulling cabinets in a house built before 1965 please check the wiring behind the walls first, has anyone else run into this on a flip?
