Warning: tried the plastic sheeting trick on my ABQ swamp cooler and now I can't decide if it worked
My swamp cooler pad kept drying out fast in this dry Albuquerque air, so I wrapped the pad frame in 6 mil plastic sheeting with holes poked in it. Cut my water use way down and the house still stayed cool, but a neighbor says I'm just asking for mold on the frame. Anyone run this setup through a full summer here, did the pads survive or did you pull it after a month?
