Am I the only one who started using a thermal camera for every call?

I got a cheap one on sale for about $150 six months ago... mostly just for fun. Last week, I had a fridge that was running non-stop but the temp was fine. Instead of pulling the whole thing out, I just scanned the door gasket with the camera. Found a tiny 2-inch cold spot where the seal was barely touching... it was letting in just enough warm air to keep the compressor going. Fixed it with a hairdryer on the gasket for a minute, saved an hour of diagnostics. Anyone else using one for quick checks like that?

My buddy used his to find a hot spot in his attic wiring last month. Saved him from a potential fire. Those cheap cameras are sneaky useful.

Wait, are we sure it was really about to start a fire? @williamt44, those cameras can show warm spots from just bad insulation or a light fixture... sometimes it's not as bad as it looks. People get scared over nothing with that thermal stuff. I'd want an electrician to check it before calling it a fire hazard.
