Guy at the parts counter in Dayton told me to always check the drum glides before ordering a belt kit
I blew $60 on a belt kit for a Whirlpool dryer that would not stay running, and he said to feel the glides first and sure enough they were shot. Has anyone else had a counter guy save them from a parts swap like that?
Glides are one of those things nobody checks until the belt keeps slipping or the drum drags, then they already bought the wrong parts. Felt ones wear flat and get all gummy, and once they're gone the drum eats the belt again in no time. Run your fingers along the front and rear glides before you order anything, it takes two minutes and saves you the hassle.
