Paid $140 for a torque wrench I barely use now
Bought a click-type torque wrench for compressor service calls. Thought I needed it for every bolt. Turns out most of my work is just stubborn rusted screws and seized belts. The wrench sits in the truck box nine days out of ten. Only real job it got was a sealed unit swap on a fridge in Toledo. Now I wonder if a beam style or just a good breaker bar would've been smarter. Anyone else buy a specialty tool that ended up being dead weight?

I once bought a fancy right angle drill for one cabinet job and it's been collecting dust ever since, so you're in good company. That thing cost me $200 and the only action it sees now is when I move it to get to my regular drill. At least your torque wrench got to visit Toledo, mine never even left the county. I keep telling myself it'll pay off someday but deep down I know it's just my $200 paperweight.
