Question about a weird fix for a Samsung washer that wouldn't drain
Had a call for a Samsung WF42H5000AW that was throwing an error and wouldn't drain. Checked the usual suspects, pump was fine, no clogs. On a hunch, I unplugged the main control board for about 15 minutes, plugged it back in, and it started working perfectly. The customer in Tempe said it had been acting up for a week. Has anyone else seen a hard reset clear a drain error like that?

That's just a lucky fluke, not a real fix. Why would a board reset fix a mechanical drain problem?

Actually, I read that modern washers use sensors that can get stuck.

Wow, that is a super frustrating issue for the customer, glad you managed to get it sorted out. It's wild that a simple power cycle did the trick after all that other troubleshooting.
