Went to a laundromat in Akron and noticed something odd about their dryers

I was picking up a used commercial washer last Tuesday from this laundromat in Akron. While loading it in my van I noticed their dryers had these weird aftermarket bypass kits on the lint filters. Like someone rigged them to bypass the safety switches so theyd run even with full lint traps. Made me wonder how many other shops see this kind of hack job out in the field. Has anyone else run into these DIY bypass setups on commercial gas dryers?

Check those bypass kits for UL stickers, most hack jobs skip the certification.

Have you checked if maybe those owners were just trying to see how much lint they could collect for a record? I once accidentally bypassed my own dryer's safety switch with a paperclip and it was not my proudest moment.
