Can we talk about how crane work changed in 20 years

Talking to a old timer from Vermont at a conference last month and he said he still hand climbs everything, doesn't trust a bucket truck. Made me wonder how many of us are still doing things the old way just because that's how we learned.

Maybe it's just me but this kinda feels like the same thing I see everywhere now. Like my dad still uses a paper map when we go on road trips even though google maps is right there on his phone. People get set in their ways and once something works, they don't wanna mess with it. There's something comforting about doing it the way you were taught, even if there's a newer easier way. The old timer probably sees bucket trucks as a crutch that makes people lazy about safety or something.

@jamierodriguez you got it, I still use a flip phone half the time just to feel something.
