Had a guy in Detroit yell at me for topping a maple tree
I was removing a dying limb from a silver maple near 8 Mile last spring. Guy from two houses over walks up and starts screaming about how I was "killing the tree" by cutting at 3 inches. He kept saying I should have taken the whole branch at the collar. I tried to explain the collar had rot, but he wouldn't listen. Has anyone else dealt with a random bystander who thinks they know more than you about your own job?

Three inches off? I've definitely made worse mistakes, like that time I trimmed my own eyebrows.

Wait, you trimmed your OWN eyebrows? Like with scissors or an electric trimmer? I can't even imagine how that went down, @camerony82, because I'd be too scared I'd end up with one totally missing or completely crooked. I mean, at least the trimmer just takes off length, but eyebrows are tricky with all their shape and arch and stuff. Did you accidentally go way too short on one side and have to even it out with the other? That's kind of like my roommate who tried to trim his own hair during lockdown and ended up with a patchy mess on the back of his head.
