Hand saw on a 6 inch limb vs my 20 inch Echo: saw won by a lot
Had a silver maple limb come down on a fence line in Cedar Rapids after that wind storm. Only about 6 inches across. I grabbed my old 20 inch Echo first out of habit.
Saw bound up twice in the kerf. Chain was sharp too. Swapped to a plain 30 inch hand saw and it walked through clean in maybe 90 seconds. No pinch, no smoke, no cussing.
I think it comes down to the bar weight pulling the cut shut on small wood. The hand saw just floats.
Anyone else keep reaching for power on stuff that small? Or am I late to this?
